Definition

Workers Compensation Insurance is the legally-mandated insurance covering a vendor's employees for work-related injury or illness. In NSW, it's administered through icare/Workers Compensation Act 1987.

Why it matters for procurement

If your cleaning vendor underpays workers comp premiums or hires sham subcontractors to avoid it, the employee's injury claim can pierce through to the principal. Always verify the COI before contract signing.

How White Gold Collective applies it

All operational staff are PAYG employees covered by current NSW workers compensation. Certificate of currency is shared at onboarding and on each annual renewal.
