Definition

A site audit (or site walk) is the pre-contract physical inspection of premises by the prospective cleaning vendor — capturing scope, access, equipment requirements, hazards, frequency and any compliance-specific overlays (clinical, food-safe, education).

Why it matters for procurement

Quotes prepared without a site walk are guesswork. They either inflate to cover unknown risk or — more commonly — lowball the scope and grow over the contract through variations. The site audit is the single biggest determinant of accurate pricing.
